I had success early and was fortunate to have exceptional people around me. I was one of the youngest lawyers ever accepted to Gerry Spence’s Trial Lawyers College, and I spent summers learning from that tradition. From Gerry Spence to Johnnie Cochran, Rikki Kliemann, Joe Jamail, Robert Shapiro, Garvin Isaacs, Milton Grimes, Richard “Racehorse” Haynes, Morris Dees, and others, I was given unusual access to how the best in the country actually try cases.
Throughout the years I have represented some of the most well-known professional athletes in Texas football history — including Rodney Thomas and Quentin Jammer — while practicing criminal trial law at a high level.
I office with elite criminal lawyers in Houston. We bounce ideas off each other, help each other, and at times try cases together. Peers and former clients have described me as talented, gifted, and honorable. Several lawyers and judges referred to me as “the most gifted attorney to ever come out of Brazoria County.”
